The Government’s Creatures

We’re all just the government’s creatures. Their creations.

Religion, laws, influence… they’re the consistencies in our lives, yet they all stem from a human. God, for example, is believed in by many people in this world, but have we ever thought about why? Everything we know and believe about this “god” originates from a human; the bible was written by humans, the churches are run by humans, the stories were created by humans. Why do we put so much faith in a story when we’re the ones leading our lives? Hopsin, an american rapper, record producer, director, and actor, sang “It’s us, find power/Live life, mind power” in “Ill Mind of Hopsin 7” discussing exactly this concept. Whether you’re a believer in god or not, our power lies within ourselves. We must discover and decide what to believe without our beliefs being influenced or governed by others.

When you step away from the influences that are brought down on us by our surrounding environment, we get one step closer to ourselves. Step away from “the norm”… the music everybody listens to, the rumors that everybody believes, the shows everybody watches, the clothes everybody wears, the things everybody does. We’re losing our creativity, losing ourselves in the process of conforming to the rules of a “higher power”, but there is no higher power than our own… “It’s us, find power/Live life, mind power”. When i see tons of teenagers drinking and smoking their sorrows away, participating in emotionless hookups with strangers just to feel like their part of a bigger power, it’s disappointing. As generations continue, humans are losing their “realness”. Nobody is real anymore. Nobody is raw. Everybody is numb.

Now, ‘everybody’ does not apply to absolutely everybody. There are exceptions, outcasts, people who truly love and care, people who haven’t lost theirselves emotionally. But even the real people become numbed eventually because they’re living in a society that doesn’t love. There’s real people that are out there living for themselves, people who found that power and can stick with it, but it’s rare. Continually being surrounded by people that abuse the power that they have by conforming to societies awful norms is causing even the real people to plummet down the same path. I blame this on influence, the people’s government of the mind.

Now when i say government, i don’t mean THE government. Anything that has influence on you, is your government. It’s just sad when most people give up their own minds to get caught up in somebody else’s government, or to escape their own. This is part of the reason i don’t respect “norms” or popular things. People get so caught up in higher power, that they disrespect their own, resulting in generations of followers. Some of us follow what we like, but most are pressured into the “norm” and follow the bigger crowd. It’s so rare these days to find somebody with a different music taste or somebody that doesn’t drink/smoke or even somebody who has real emotional connections with people. Because everybody follows.

You think you original? You ain’t original
You were programmed to be you
You’re a slave and you don’t even know it
The shit you think of ain’t even your thoughts
Let’s step out the box for a minute…

…How did rap music go from really good to so dry?
Real artists get shelved and wack one’s get famous
To leave masses brainless, a smart mind is dangerous
In their eyes there probably ain’t no real shit in your playlist
You’re just a product of what the government has created

(Nocturnal Rainbows by Hopsin)

Followers are a product of what the government created. And we made this government by sacrificing ourselves to the its’ way of thinking. Now, how do we differentiate the real thoughts from the followed thoughts? How do we cross that line that separates The Real and The Followed in this world’s purgatory of thought? Weakness. I’m not here to tell you how weak you are, everybody is in one way or another, but it’s the way you deal with weakness that brings you the strength to be part of your own government. This brings me to escapes. Escapes, how you deal with your weaknesses, along with productivity, are huge factors in weakness.

A productive escape can be beneficial to your state of mind and way of life offering strength and independence from influence, while a less productive, more damaging escape can result in a loss of emotion, care, and self-government. Drinking to take the pain away is weakness, smoking to feel better is a weakness, it’s a temporary high in a life of lows that tricks your mind into thinking it’s better that way. But, by allowing this to happen, you are letting your self-control slip away, you are no longer self-governed, you have become apart of a higher government, the one everybody follows eventually. That followed government traps you, in one way or another; whether you start relying on temporary relief or on fitting in with everybody else, you lose yourself. Both display weakness, for you are willing to lose yourself to a higher power. Sadly, this is how most of our generation functions.

I’ve continuously thought about this change in the way people in our society function. We give up our emotions because we’d rather have temporary relief than have to deal with our problems on a daily basis; in other words we’ve become emotionless and selfish and careless. People in this society no longer care about others unless it affects their lives in some way. Other than a mere few that truly care, everybody fakes it so they can keep getting that high. It’s pathetic. But it’s our world and we’re stuck here in one big influential GOVERNMENT.

Whether it was social media, or the increase in weakness throughout many generations, it happened. Our independence as separate people is one of the rarest ideas in present society, for it’s never expressed. The seniority recognizes this change but most people within the change cannot. When everybody around you follows one government, it pressures the rarity to hide and conform, weakness. This is why it is so rare to see somebody truly independent from the higher power, somebody with their own power, somebody who is strong enough to avoid conforming to a followed government– the Real. Without the Real, their is no Followed, for there is an ‘opposite reaction to every action’, but the sad thing about the Real vs. the Followed is that the negative greatly outweighs the positive. This causes a forever increasing negativity in the world, a growing influence, taking the form of a huge government that creates a mass of followers, a creation by mass influence.

And we continue to walk around as slaves of this higher power, unknowingly.

We have been created to serve this modern society.

And in the end, we are all just The Government’s Creatures.
